The term "star quad" obtains its name from the 4-conductor style construction that minimizes the "loop area" between twists of the conductors. Because every conductor is located the same distance from the center, the opposing magnetic fields are cancelled out. The improvement in noise rejection is so noticeable that certain types of EMI/RFI interference are reduced to less than 1/10 the level found in other 2 or 3-conductor power cords. An externally mounted ground wire allows the current carrying conductors to enjoy a more intimate relationship and additional symmetry.

While it's common knowledge that Kevlar is not only fire resistant, bulletproof, and stronger than steel, our vast listening tests have shown that it's also wondorously inert; perfect for audio use. Another added benefit of the Starchord's Kevlar outer jacket is the incredible degree of flexibilty that it affords. The Kevlar Starchord can be turned 360 degrees in less than a 4" diameter circle - Truly amazing for a cord with such substantial (11 AWG) conductors and power-handling capability! Lastly, the Kevlar Starchord is terminated with premium, hospital-grade connectors from Marinco. The model 8215 male plug and model IEC 320 connectors both feature Marinco's "perma-lock" terminals which insure that neither heat nor vibration can loosen the connection.
